Description
These rich and fudgy sweet potato brownies are naturally gluten-free, flourless, and made with wholesome ingredients. Perfect for a healthier chocolate fix without sacrificing flavor.
Ingredients
1 cup mashed sweet potato (roasted or canned, smooth)
½ cup natural nut butter (almond, peanut, or sunflower seed)
⅓ cup maple syrup or honey
½ tsp pure vanilla extract
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ cup oat flour or almond flour
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
⅓ cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
Prep the sweet potato: Roast or use canned sweet potato. Mash until smooth (or blend for extra creamy texture).
Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potato, nut butter, maple syrup, and vanilla.
Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk cocoa powder, oat flour, baking soda, and salt.
Make the batter: Slowly fold the dry mix into the wet mix. Stir until smooth and thick. Fold in chocolate chips, if using.
Bake: Spread batter into a parchment-lined 8×8″ baking dish. Smooth the top.
Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 20–22 minutes. The center should look slightly soft.
Cool & set: Allow brownies to cool in the pan for 30–45 minutes. Refrigerate for extra fudgy texture before slicing.
Notes
Use sunflower seed butter for a nut-free version.
Add cinnamon, cayenne, or peppermint extract for seasonal variations.
Brownies will firm up more after cooling or refrigerating. Don’t overbake!
